Biography

Dorotea Dolinšek is an artist whose work explores the intersections of technology, ecology, and speculative futures. In her practice she often draws from scientific concepts to investigate planetary systems, non-human agencies, and post-anthropocentric imaginaries in the context of extreme conditions of outer space, that she juxtaposes with the deep ecological crisis on Earth.
She holds a BA in Painting from the Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia and is currently completing her MA in Video and New Media Art at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana. Her academic journey includes participation in interdisciplinary programs such as the Ars Electronica Summer School and the FOUNDING LAB at IT:U in Linz, Austria.
Dolinšek has exhibited home and abroad, with solo shows at Kapelica Gallery (Ljubljana), KONTEJNER (Zagreb), X Center (Nova Gorica) and elsewhere. Her work has been featured in group exhibitions such as Ars Electronica, the Art, Science and Technology Biennale in Beijing, Antre Peux, International Festival of Computer Arts and others.
She was the recipient of the Student Intermedia Project Award at the International Festival of Computer Art in 2021 and has taken part in residencies such as the European Media Art Platform (EMAP) at Ars Electronica and the INCUBATION research program at Kapelica Gallery.
